Growth, feed utilization, survival and production performances
Data of Table 3 revealed a significant (Pb0.05) effect of dietary
additives of dried yeast (DY) on the final bodyweight and total biomass
of the hybrid catfish received different DY levels. It was cleared that
adding highest (2%) level of DY3 recorded highest (Pb0.05) average
final body weight (913.3 g/fish) and total biomass (4807.4 kg/cage or
43 kg/m3) compared to all other dietary groups including the control.
Moreover, catfish fed dried yeast based diets had higher (Pb0.05)
growth rates than the control group as shown in Table 3. Thereby, the
hybrid DY-catfish average daily weight gain (ADWG) was superior to
that of the control group aswell as, feed conversion ratio (FCR), protein
efficiency ratio (PER) and net yield of hybrid catfish within the DY-fish
groups compared to the control group (Table 3). However, no significant
(PN0.05) enhancement of survival (%) could be distinguished
among different fish groups. During the experimental period hybrid
catfish fingerlings fed on DY3 based diet (2% DY)
