Experimental apparatus
The self-designed experimental apparatus is shown in
Fig. 3. This method was developed to test the anti-permeability
strength under high water pressure. The system
consists of a water feed pipe (u250 mm) that feeds a
sample pot in which the sample is subjected to pore pressure
testing. Upon opening the inlet valve water enters the
feed pipe and the water pressure increases. The water
conduit from the bottom of feed pipe connects to the
drainage valve, so that the height of drainage valve controls
the water level in the feed pipe. If the water level is higher
