Dengue fever (DF) and Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) are important public health diseases
mainly transmitted by Aedes aegypti especially in southern areas of North-Eastern Thailand. The
ArcGIS database was developed via software called “ArcView ver 3.2”. Fifteen villages from three
provinces, Ubon Ratchathani, Sisaket, and Amnart Charoen, were selected for the study based on the
high number of cases and morbidity rates, especially during the pre-outbreak period. Larval vector
surveys showed all dengue indices in the villages were normally higher during the pre-outbreak
period compared to the outbreak and post-outbreak periods. Comparisons between provinces
revealed that Sisaket had the highest dengue indices during the outbreak period. All dengue indices
during and in the post-outbreak periods decreased.
