In addition to humidity levels being trimmed, high temperatures will be cut to the lower 80s Friday and Saturday, before heat builds during the balance of the Labor Day weekend. Players and fans at the U.S. Open will get a little break from the heat for a couple of days.
Normal high temperatures in Manhattan fall slowly from near 80 during the middle of this week to the middle 70s by the middle of next week.
The weather will be perfect for heading to the beach or the pool. Just keep in mind, due to the lateness of Labor Day this year, many college-age lifeguards will not be on duty. Be sure to swim only where lifeguards are present.
