These authors
proposed that the mechanisms through which muscle
IGF-I concentrations post-training could alter with no
concurrent changes in muscle IGF-I mRNA nor indeed
serum IGF-I levels may either involve (a) translational
and/or post-translational-mediated events, (b) exerciseinduced
increase in total blood volume or (c) modulated
characteristics of the IGF binding proteins in the
muscle tissue.
