In corporate farms and when dealing with bigger shrimp farms with multiple ponds that employ workers on full time basis or for casual labour the general labour laws about freedom of association and collective bargaining apply in full and it is important that there laws are well understood by workers. In the context of smaller shrimp farms employing small number of workers or engaged in family farming organization of workers might be limited but what is essential is that there is general understanding of these principles and that there is respect to the right of workers to be heard and that value of open communications and listening to each other view points and needs is established as a regular feature of farm work.
