The signal-to-noise ratios
of these two analytical methods were compared by the determination
of low-level PAH compounds; the results are listed in Table 1. It is
concluded that the signal-to-noise ratios of GC–MS/MS are superior to
those of GC–MS. Moreover, in the analysis of the field air samples by
GC–MS/MS, better resolution for BaA and Chr was obtained, as shown
in Fig. 1, presumably due to the superior sensitivity and selectivity of
GC–MS/MS.
