Synthetic drugs are notably more hazardous, and their
continuous use has affected the ecosystem to a considerable
extent, due to their high persistency and constant accumulation
in the biological systems. To overcome this considerable
effect, investigations are being carried out to develop safer
sources of disease control agents from algal sources. Caccamese
and Azzolina [56] recorded that the family Phaeophyceae
showed the highest antibacterial activity.
