The 17 T-type thermocouples are located at the plane of
symmetry of the box, as shown in Fig. 1b. They are connected to a PC through a Fluke Hydra data acquisition unit.
An additional thermocouple is used to measure the temperature of the surroundings. The row of thermocouples
second from the right is placed exactly under the centerline
of the plate. The other thermocouples are distributed uniformly in the cross-section of the box. The dimensions of the
thermocouples are much smaller than those of the enclosure,
therefore the disturbance to flow should be small.
