The initial hypothesis that genetic modification itself is
stressful to the plant is supported by the results obtained in
this work. Not only were higher levels of enzymes directly or
indirectly involved in the defence against excessive ROS
production, such as APX, CAT, GR, and SOD, found in the T
soybean leaves, but higher levels of H2O2 and MDA were also
found. Additionally, 47 proteins were found to be differentially
abundant when comparing these two genotypes by applying a
regulation factor of ≥1.8, 26 of which were accurately identified.
