To make the incineration of industrial wastes more efficient
and less hazardous, it is necessary to understand all aspects of
this combustion process. Basic understanding of the incineration
mechanism is especially important in the case of
halogenated hydrocarbons. Fundamental knowledge of mechanisms,
specific channels, and rate constants of important
elemental reactions, including those of H atoms with
halogenated methane, is of key importance to the success of
kinetic modeling of these systems.
