Two vandaceous species of different genera, viz., V. coerulea (pink) and A. auranticum having distinct floral and vegetative features were chosen for the present study. Vandaceous orchids offer great variations both at species and generic levels in the flower colours, size, shape texture and number per spike in addition to their vegetative features. Generally, in orchids, the inflorescence bears typical attractive flowers, which are essential for cross-pollination by pollinators especially insects.
