A preliminary review of the service life of concrete
structures suffering from corrosion leads to the general
conclusion that service life is considered finished when
the depassivation of the bar is reached [11, 12]. This
statement sometimes seems conservative, and in conse-
quence, other authors prefer to identify the service life
with the time for cover cracking to appear [10, 13-15].
