phytate might lead to errors of 2 to 6 per cent if not corrected. In another experiment an error of 20 per cent was encountered in the analysis of a sample containing 0.25 mg. of phytate P and 0.35 mg. of inorganic P in a volume of 10 cc. The figures in the last column of Table I indicate, however, that the determination of inorganic P in the solution of the calcium phytate precipitate may afford an adequate correction for the coprecipitation of in- organic P.
