BLADES
Each rotor blade generates an aerodynamic lift which depends on the angle
of attach of the blade.
The blades are made of composite material. A stainless steel erosion shield
is attached to the leading edge of the blade. The leading edge and the
trailing edge of the blade root have fairings.
Mass-balance weights are used to balance the blade statically and are
inserted in two holes: one is located near the blade root and one is located
near the blade tip cap.
Two metallic trim tabs are attached to the trailing edge and can be bent as
necessary to do the tracking of the main rotor and to balance the blade
dynamically.
A lightning conductor strip is attached to the top surface of each blade root.
The blade can be heated by means of an optional heater mat installed
behind the leading edge of the blade.
