The General Assembly
Though the General Assembly, has all the member nation, supervises the work of the other five administrative organs, the Security Council is the most powerful branch of the United Nations. The Council makes final decisions on actions the United Nations should take and has the authority to approve or disapprove new members. The General Assembly also convenes for special sessions every few years on specific topics, such as economic cooperation or disarmament or emergency session. The General Assembly has the power to admit new members to the UN. It approves the budget for UN programs and operations.
