Since TIA-1 and TIAR have a property of binding AU-rich elements of RNAs [16]; and it has been demonstrated that TIA-1 and TIAR can bind to (−) 3′-UTR of flavivirus [11], we examined the specific binding sites of these two proteins on viral genome.
