Bacterial community structure of the pharmaceutical
wastewater
The bacterial community was characterized by DGGE cultureindependent
technique. Analysis of the amplified variable the
V3eV5 hypervariable region of the 16S rRNA was separated on a
polyarcylamide denaturing gel. The DGGE profiles reflected a large
variability in bacterial community structure (Fig. 1). Several bands
with variable intensities and migration distances were detected by
visual analysis. Fragments of 16S rRNA, obtained by long migration
corresponding to high GC content bacteria, seemed to be predominant.
The profiles representing the months of February and
March (samples 1 and 2) are visually similar. It was possible to
identify 3 bands (B1, B2 and B3) from the three samples selected at
