It is observed from the I–V curves in Fig. 5, that the cell with the liquid polymer electrolyte has the relatively highest current density up to 0.857 ± 0.022 mA cm2 i.e. an increase in the order of 111% than the regular iodine electrolyte of 0.406 ± 0.001 mA cm2. Also, the open circuit voltage shows an increase by 70 mV than the regular iodine electrolyte.
