Introduction
The length-weight relationship and condition
factor of fish has got significant role in fishery
management. These relationships can be used in
estimating the average weight at a given length group
(Beyer, 1987) and in estimating the health status of
the fish population (Bolger and Connoly, 1989).
Length-weight relationships are very useful for
fisheries research because they allow the conversion
of growth-in-length equations to growth-in-weight,
biomass estimation, and condition of the fish and
differences of life histories of fish species (Froese and
Pauly, 1998; Moutopoulos and Stergiou, 2002).
