This study has been carried out only with the PC samples repro- cessed by injection. Table 2 shows the modulus of elasticity as well as tensile and impact strength values. The modulus of elasticity was practically unaffected by injection reprocessing. Although the ten- sile strength was unaffected by injection reprocessing after the first five cycles, it showed a slight decrease after the sixth reprocess- ing cycle, and decreased dramatically after the eighth reprocessing cycle (in the eighth reprocessing cycle the tensile strength was 40% lower than the value of the original material). These results are in agreement with those obtained by Aguirre Flores and Sanchez- Valdes (1999) that showed that the tensile strength at break of dry PC samples was not strongly affected by the continuous reprocess- ing during the first three cycles; however, after the fourth and the fifth cycle, a large decrease in tensile strength was observed. This suggests that tensile strength is clearly affected by the PC degrada- tion occurred during reprocessing, especially after the third cycle or longer residence times.
In the determination of the impact strength, it was only pos- sible to measure the first four injection cycles because after the
