1. Bandwidth limitations.
There is insufficient capacity throughout the backbone, the metropolitan switching centres, and most importantly, the “last mile” to the house and small businesses. As a result today’s internet is slow and incapable of effective sharing and display large files, such as video and voice files.
2. Quality of service limitations
the delays in messages caused by the uneven flow of information packets through the network causing latency. In the case of email, latency is not noticeable. However in video files and voice messages latency creates jerkiness.
3. Network architecture limitations.
Today’s Internet architecture can not keep up with the demands and expectations of the consumers. Better Internet infrastructure will improve the way server process requests for information resulting higher speed.
4. Language development limitations.
HTML as the universal language of the web is judged to have insufficient ability to support rich documents such as databases, business documents or graphics.
5. Wired Internet.
Most of today’s Internet connections are still based primarily on physical cable, which limits the mobility of users. Although cellular phones technology offers mobility, the systems are often over loaded due to the growth in the number of smart phones.
