“Being A handicraftsman, I as a king dare to insist that it is not poorer than being a clerk or an official, as many people are misunderstanding. This craftsman should be praised and raised as well. If he can make his way in trading or handficraft, I may promote him as a nobleman like one who is t he official.”
His promise was kept when he later gave titles to ones who were non-officials,such as Phraya Phirom Phakdee(Boonrod Setthabutra) who owned a timber business and also a passenger liner service on the Chao Phraya River. Also rewarded was Phraya Phakdi Noraset (Lert Setthabutr) who owned the first bus service in Siam.
