4. Conclusions
The use of plants and/or enhancing agents to detoxify contaminated soil is a potentially cost-effective alternative to traditional remediation technologies. From the results of this study, enhancing agents such as liquid silica (SiO2), and surfactants, such as, Tween 80, hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin (HPβCD) and Liquid humic acid (HA) could act as enhancing agents for phytoremediation of cyanophos from the contaminated soil. P. major amended with liquid silicon dioxide induced higher accumulation of Cyanophos in the roots and leaves during the three days.
