concluding that lipid extractability depended
heavily on algae species and cell disruption methods. Prabakaran
and Ravindran (2011), though using the same methods, found significantly
different results: lipid yield via autoclaving was 76.6%
(Chlorella sp.), 72.3% (Nostoc sp.), and 60.8% (Tolypothrix sp.). It
appears that lipid extractability is substantially affected by algal species, extraction methods, and water content of biomass
condition.
