Male Wistar rats weighing 200 ± 30 g were used for the evaluation
of anti-inflammatory activity. Animals were obtained from the
Central Animal House, Zhejiang Chinese Medical University, China.
They were fed with standard pellet diet and water ad libitum and
kept in the laboratory environment (23 ± 2°C under a 12 h dark/12 h
light cycle) for seven days for acclimatization. Prior to the experiments,
the animals were fasted overnight and weighed. All experiments
were carried out in strict compliance with The Principle of
Laboratory Animal Care (NIH, 1985).
