How and when do I pay for Global Launch tuition and fees?

Tuition, the student services fee, and health insurance must be paid in full at the beginning of each session. You can pay using Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, traveler's checks or cash. Visit ASU's billing page for more information.

What should I bring with me when I come to register?

Bring your passport, Visa, 1-20, 1-94 card, measles vaccination record and method of payment.

How is my course level determined?

Your course level is determined by your placement test score. Students do not determine their own placement. You will be tested on reading, writing, listening, speaking, grammar and vocabulary.

Do I have to take the placement test?

Yes. All new Global Launch students (regardless of English experience) must take the placement exam. The exam is taken on the first day of orientation. The exam lasts approximately three hours.

When will I know my class level and schedule?

You will receive your class level and schedule at the Global Launch orientation aftter you take the placement test.

What do my fees go toward?

The fee pays for all Global Launch activities, the Global Launch computer lab, and use of all campus facilities except the Student Recreation Complex. (Recreation Complex membership costs $25 per semester).

Are there dining facilities available on campus?

Yes, students can purchase a meal plan or buy meals individually. There are many cafeterias as well as popular and inexpensive restaurants on campus and within walking distance of campus. Go to ASU's Sun Devil Dining page for more information.

Are there any scholarships or financial aid available to study English at Global Launch?

Global Launch does not have any financial aid or scholarships available.

Can I study at Global Launch with a B-visa (B-1, B-2), a visa waiver, or a border crossing card?

You are eligible for part-time incidental study. However, please note: if you begin studying in Global Launch while on a B-visa (B-1, B-2), a visa waiver, or border crossing card, a change to F-1 student status will not be possible unless you first exit the U.S., apply for and receive an F-1 student visa, and then re-enter the U.S. using the F-1 visa.

Can I work while I'm taking classes at Global Launch?

F-1 students may work on campus a maximum of 20 hours per week. F-1 students may not legally work off campus. If you have any questions about what jobs you can accept, speak with a student advisor for information. Global Launch does not want students to risk losing their visa status.

I don't have proof of my measles immunizations. What can I do?

You will need to get the required vaccination (MMR) at the ASU Campus Health Center.

Can I take an ASU class while I'm a Global Launch Student?

Yes, if you have alreadly completed the Intermediate 2 level with grades of "A" or "B", or have started Global Launch at the Advance 1 or 2 level, or have scored at least 475 on the TOEFL.

I want to live in an apartment or house off campus. Can I get information before I arrive?

Yes, you will find helpful housing details and links to housing resources on our housing page. It is best to reserve housing before you arrive.

Can I fax my application and financial guarantee?

Yes, you can mail or fax your application and financial guarantee, or send them via e-mail as attached files.
