Fifteen, 87.5% Holstein Friesian multiparous blood dairy cows in mid-lactation with an average 417.88 ± 52.60 kg body weight and 83.31 ± 26.47 days in milk were used in the present study. All animals were
randomly allocated to three groups. Group 1 was fed with rice straw and 1 kg of vinasses in separate bowl.
Group 2 was fed with SCWS (sweet corn waste silage) and group 3 was fed with TMF (total mixed fiber).
The Completely Randomized Design (CRD) was employed with 14-day adaptation period and 90-day
of comparison period. All cows were housed in individual pens and were fed ad libitum of roughage
and allowing not more than 10% refusals. The commercial concentrate (19.80% CP) was given to all
cows based on the requirements for maintenance and production [7].
