In this work we have studied the effect of dispersion agents
on nanohybridization between MWNTs and gold nanoparticles
(GNPs). Some chemicals such as sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), poly
(sodium 4-styrene sulfonate) (PSS) and polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP)
were used for dispersion of MWNTs in water and they also assisted
the nanohybridization of gold nanoparticles and MWNTs. SDS and
PSS have ionic head groups differently from non-ionic, polar PVP.
As compared to SDS, PSS of higher molecular weight could make a
change on the outer polarity of the MWNTs dispersed in water to
give an effect on the morphology of its nanocomposite.
