Dear colleagues,
It is with great sadness that we must report the fatality of multiple SNC-Lavalin employees in a road traffic accident. Today, at approximately 6pm (local time), a bus transporting 25 employees from the SCADA project site to the Tamini accommodation camp was involved in an accident on the Harad road in southern Saudi Arabia.
At this stage, the identities of the deceased have not been confirmed. We are working closely with local authorities to identify the employees and gathering the facts to have a better understanding of the accident. We are also conducting our own internal investigation to ensure we put in place measures to avoid such a tragedy from occurring at any of our other locations around the world. We have deployed Alan McLean, Executive Vice-President, FEED & Engineering, to the region to assist our team with the situation.
We will provide an update when more information is made available to us.
Our thoughts go out to the families, friends and coworkers of the deceased, as well as those who were injured, during this most difficult time.
Despite this challenging event, we remind you to focus on safety measures and remember that HSSE comes first.
Sincerely,
Neil Bruce, President & Chief Executive Officer
Christian Brown, President, Oil & Gas
