The points above relate classroom talk to learning management, the creation of a strong collaborative atmosphere, the management of the subtext. Talk, however, is even more significant than that. Every subject classroom should feature talk at isn’t heart. Social constructivism concerns the idea that talk is the tool for building new ideals. Children literally need to translate new ideas into their own language and this is done through conversation. And talk builds interest and involvement. It’s also the most direct and efficient way of servicing the requirements of literacy policies. Managing talk effectively needs some thought, and this is covered extensively in chapter 4.
