The Bangkok Mass Transit Authority will provide free Wi-Fi Internet on its 1,500 European emission standard buses, acting BMTA director Naret Boonpliem said on Thursday.
He added that the new Euro buses, which are painted orange, come into service on October 1.
Naret said the BMTA will launch about 3,000 new NGV buses early next year and will improve the current buses by repainting them and installing easy-to-read route charts.
The director said the BMTA is also intending to lease out its unused depots, such as Bang Khen, Min Buri, Suan Siam, and Samer Dam, to private developers to build shopping malls so that the state firm can earn more income.
