Getting the Graphorn resituated took both yours and Newt’s best effort while Jacob watches in awe.
Once finished you pat the creature affectionately on her flank before going to check on some of the other beasts, sending a wistful smile to Newt as you do. The whole chase for her had reminded you of how he and you had met.
An adventure in the wild you’d never forget.
Once you were done checking that the Bowtruckles were nice and secure, double counting them just be sure, you walk back towards the workshop.
You step into the small space and chuckle lightly as you try to squeeze past both Newt and Jacob who are at the desk, heads bent over a book, Jacob asking questions and Newt answering them.
There come a knock from the lid of the case. You turn your head to look at the entrance, a question written all over your expression. You take a step forward but Newt places a gentle hand on your arm and goes first.
“Stay here.” He tells you, gesturing for Jacob to come up with him. You watch as they leave and an uneasy feeling starts to roll in your stomach after they don’t return a few minutes later.
You back out of the shack, slow and quite, making sure to close the door behind you.
Suddenly there’s the sound of footsteps coming down the ladder, hurried, more than one person, you freeze, it’s not Newt, you know that much. You pull your wand from your pocket, rolling it between your thumb and forefinger as the sound of footsteps gets louder. Frank lets out a cry. You turn to him. If whoever was coming into the case saw a Thunderbird there was no telling what might happen.
