The competition between chain scissions and chain recombination (crosslinking) can be observed by the evolution of the
phase angle tangent (tand) which describes the balance between the viscous (G00) and elastic (G0) behaviors in a polymer
melt. The chain scissions cause an increase of the macromolecular mobility which is reflected in an increase of tan d and
oppositely, a decrease of this parameter can be a result of recombination and crosslinking reactions.
