School policies is greatly significant to define what direction of school will be, infact, good and practical school policies result in many great schools and their students. Supposing that, if I were a director of the top international school in Thailand, I would launch 3 critical policies for my school which I will explore you in following essay.
First, there is no grading system to evaluate my student, due to the modern world crisis which leads to highly compete to get study in further university or to get work. I will change this system because grade cannot evaluate their real potential; however, I will evaluate my students via authentic assessment at all times and emphasize on students’ performances. For instance, students cannot solve some problems which in the real workplaces, so they need to practice on problems first.
Second, to promote my students to rely on themselves by means of part time jobs, which they are interested in. In this case, students can have the great opportunities to work in workplaces, hence, they would be patient adaptive and sociable in workplaces; moreover, they could earn money which reduce their parents’ efforts. For my experience, when I was a student, I started to work as an English tutor in a private class, this made me understand clearly how the meaning of work is.
Third, both subjects and activities completely emphasized on 3R7C or 21st century skills. Teachers always insert the 3R7C process in class, in order to progressively enhance students’ learning competence and many aspects of life. Furthermore, 21st century skills boost students’ thinking ability, communication skills that could help students to get ready to work.
All in all, for my ideal school policies are, grades system would be no longer existed, part time jobs actually causes the great experiences for students, and every class emphasize on 21st century skills. In the realistic world, people depend on overall grades or degree of what they have graduated when they apply for jobs. This is the tragedy for many good people who lack of education background.
