It was observed that the producer gas outlet from the
system could be cooled down to desired temperature
(less than 40◦C). Fig. 15 shows the variation of the gas
outlet temperature with cooling water Jow rate. Tar
content at the outlet of the spray tower decreased to
5mgNm−3 from its initial content of 54 mgNm−3.
No tar outlet was found in the case where the initial
tar content was 28 mgNm−3. Thus, gas outlet from
the cooler can be safely used for internal combustion
engine applications without any tar problems.
