My father acquired his life lessons by overcoming the adversities he faced growing up in Goa, Betalbatim, India. He lost his mother at a very young age. Education costs money in India and there are no such things as public schools. My father is one of seven children in his family; therefore, my grandparents could not afford to provide a high level of education for all of their children. However, he was fortunate enough to reach high school and graduate due to good grades. He did a cookery course and attained a good name for the wonderful job done in his profession, both in his country and abroad. He was working for Carnival cruise Lines but gave up for the sake of the family, as he wanted to be together after getting married. His children man a lot and for our sake, he had to sacrifice so much. No matter; he provides me with all the basic needs.
