First of all, there are cool colors and warm colors. Go back to the color wheel in
Figure 5.2 and look at all the colors on the left‑hand side: blue, green, and purple.
Those are cool colors. The colors on the right‑hand side are the warm colors: red,
yellow, and orange. When warm colors are placed on top of a cool background, they
will jump out at you, creating a stereoscopic effect and perhaps making you dizzy.
If your layout has a blue background, for example, you won’t want to print your title
text in red. Conversely, when cool colors are placed on a warm color background
they can look as if they are receding away from you (see Figure 5.14).
