Managers are often confronted with unmanageable situations. They have to continuously tackle both simple and complex problems. Some problems require immediate action, while others unfold slowly and need consistent action. Managing problems depends upon the decision-making ability of a manager. Is decision making an art or science? What are the characteristics of managerial decisions? How can one take objective, rational, and right decisions? Thus, the answer to managing problems lies in the ability of a manager to take decisions and face the consequences of his/ her actions. A good executive must be good at decision- making.
