While wasting has been reduced from 15.4 to 7.4 percent, the percentage underweight has only been reduced from 40 to 37.9 percent. The figures for the most persistent form of malnutrition – stunting – are show only a reduction from 47.3
to 41.2 percent in the same ten year period and this has been coupled with high incidences of micro-nutrient deficiencies. This is a longway fromthe policy objective of 28 percent by 2020 and a relatively small reduction over a period of such strong economic growth
