IN ITS fifth day of deliberation, the Constitution Drafting Committee (CDC) Wednesday removed provisions for the establishment of a council to examine civil-based state power and an ethics assembly from the draft charter.
It went through over 10 articles concerning civil rights in various matters such as consumer rights and rights to natural resources and the environment.
The CDC also accepted in principle rights concerning public property.
The CDC maintained the clause preserving the right to jointly examine state power that may have impacts on livelihoods, but removed the clause concerning the right to jointly develop national strategic plans, as proposed by the Cabinet, as this would obstruct the work of the administration.
