Retinervus luffae fructus,corncob and ricestraw were found
to have better carbon release capacity,denitrification potential
and relatively large surface area,thus they can be the favorable
solid carbon sources and biofilm carriers.The results indicated that
these materials were effective in improving TN removal when they
were added into MBRs,and TN removal were enhanced by25.48,
19.53 and 38.90%,respectively,as compared to control MBR. The
effluent COD showed as light increase with the addition of agri-
cultural wastes but ranged with in an acceptable level.Ricestraw
was proven to be most effective in improving denitrification and
controlling the effluent COD.
