Categorical data are reported as percentages and continuous data are presented in relation to means and standard deviations. To test whether there were any significant differences between demographic characteristics (e.g., age, gender) and profiles of needs and strengths, independent samples t-tests were conducted, with Bonferroni corrections applied for multiple comparisons within each specific domain. In order to investigate age differences, the sample was divided into two groups, the younger group comprising pre-Primary and Primary school children 5 to 12 years of age; and the older group comprising Secondary and post-Secondary school children from 13 to 17 years of age. The groups were dichotomized in order to investigate the prevalence of various needs at different stages of a child's education.
