Due to the more recent growth in short-term programs, the research is not yet as robust as for long-term programs. Anderson, Lawton, Rexeisen, and Hubbard (2006) assessed the effect of a 4-week study abroad trip in England and Ireland with 23 senior business administration students and found that their cross-cultural sensitivity improved. Nam (2011) found improvements in cultural sensitivity as well as changes in worldview and perspective after a 3-week trip (N=46).
