When you see a flash of light in the sky, it might be a meteor, which circles the sun, just as we do. When the earth cuts across the path of a meteor, the meteor heats up, and its light can be seen. Meteors can be as big as a grain of sand, a bullet, a pebble, a ball, or something even larger. Sometimes, when meteors do not completely burn up, they fall to earth and can be picked up. Some are found in museums.
