To mitigate the aforesaid serious problems, not only energy preservation and energy efficiency measures but renewable energy utilization should also be encouraged. This work introduces a novel method to improve the performance of solid fuel/feedstock combustor using the porous medium technology. Based on above rationale and background, this research aims to investigate the performance of a solid fuel porous medium combustor (SFPMC) system. The following are the research questions which will be addressed by this study:
(i) Can the mathematical model, developed in this study, predict the proposed system performance?
(ii) Can the SFPMC system perform effectively for the solid fuel/feedstock utilization?
(iii) Can the reliability of the SFPMC system be improved to obtain higher efficiency?
