The objective of this study was to explore
how best practice SMEs in the hospitality,
tourism and leisure sectors perceive and
deliver their training and employee development
activities and programmes through
the use of in-depth interviews with the aim
to collect more precise and informative
information from SME manager-owners and
employees. It provides evidence that best
practice SMEs show great willingness to
engage with training initiatives which are
considered to be better geared to small
firms needs.
