recently I met with Sandra LTL and briefly also met with Mr. Gabriele Balduzzi LTL GM with whom I spoke about possible ways to increase volumes or products for LTL.
They claim that 2014 they increased 20 % sales compared to 2013 and that the only supplier who is decreasing volumes is TOG.
Reason is :
- Conventional PAL is generally dropping and additionally Novacel who is one of LTL biggest customers, have switched since 2010 from PDX to Essilor low end PAL (supplied from LTL) and not willing to change.
In 2010 Novacel was facing big problems with Ghost mark which we lacked to promptly solve. See below e-mails for reference.
- TOG currently do not have so many items which could be interesting for LTL catalogue except Tribrid, Trivex Finished
- Tribrid could be interesting but we did not decided if to allow distribution or not .
- TVX Finished. Hoya is selling at very aggressive prices and additionally they claim that the product can be tintable on the contrary of our lenses which are NON tintable.
These 2 points are pushing LTL competitiveness and sales down.
Please could you clarify the Tintable issue and if we can supply same product ?
Secondly to hope to get sales increase from LTL we should consider to reach expected price of 4.00 Euro/pair as per previous mail.
Additionally there could also be some chances for 1.60 Finished and SF products and like you to confirm if :
- We can now supply Finished 1.60 and what is related price and technical details.
- We can quote SB0 80 mm blanks
- We could revise prices quoted in 2013 for SF 1.60 blanks
