A review of 14 different studies revealed that people with depression have low levels of omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA. In this metaanalysis, investigators revealed that the blood levels of omega-3 fatty acids EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and total omega-3 fatty acids were expressively lower in people with depressive symptoms when compared to people without depression.
