As evidenced by the contributions in The Sage Handbook of Tourism Studies under review here, a great deal has, of course, changed in the twenty years since that Annals issue. On the one hand, the disciplinary lines that were drawn in the Annals issue have become less prominent, though they are(somewhat regretfully) still present as researchers seem to persist in "reinventing the wheel" theoretically and methodologically (cf. Tribe, 2010).
